Despite earlier claims from other sources, the Magpies can now formally confirm two new signings in Joe Holvey (left) and Jordan Warren (right)
Joe re-joins the Club from Broadbridge Heath after being named Manager's Player of the Season at Plaistow Road just last year. Concerns from the player himself about his ability to commit to training led to his departure in the close season, but after a change in circumstances he has decided to return. All concerned are highly delighted by the move as Joe brings a quality and commitment to the right-hand side of the defence that will prove invaluable. That's not to say he can't be effective further up the field - his hat-trick inside 6 minutes at AFC Uckfield last season will live long in the memory of all who witnessed it.
Jordan signs for the Magpies from this Saturday's opponents Pagham where he has made 20 appearances for the First Team this season, mostly at the left-hand side of the defence (with a personal win percentage of 75%, 2 games of which were against us!). This proven pedigree, along with his technical proficiency, hard-working attitude and pleasing demeanour make Jordan an excellent capture for the Club and all are very keen to see how he settles in over the coming weeks.
These two additions bring yet more competition to the squad, particularly in the defensive ranks and this strength in depth bodes well for the Magpies as they enter the final run-in to the season when customarily many clubs begin to feel the pinch of what is a long season.
A huge welcome to both who go straight into the consideration for this Saturday's squad.
