Fri. 13 May '16
PRESENTATION NIGHT

The Club Chairman, Barry Hunter, has announced that he is stepping down at the end of this season

The club has achieved much during Barry's tenure:

From playing in West Sussex village football, we are now a Senior Football Club competing in the highest league in the county. We also compete in the FA Cup, the FA Vase and the FA Youth Cup. We have recently added a 200 strong boys Youth Section and this year we have launched our first Girls Team at U7.

We have one of the best grounds and playing surfaces in Sussex County football. Off the pitch we have a committee and operational support team to be proud of and who live and breathe the Loxwood DNA. The Club's aim is to strengthen and become a first class community Football Club and we believe all the principle ingredients are in place to achieve that.

The club is pleased to confirm that Barry will be succeeded as chairman by Mark Lacey, a local businessman who joined the committee 2 years ago and has shown a real passion, determination and vision for the Club, which will ensure we push forward. Furthermore, Barry has agreed to support Mark and the committee in an advisory capacity as Club President.

Statement from Barry Hunter

"I have served the club for 15 years as a player, Manager, Director of Football and Chairman. I know the club is in a much stronger place than when I started and that is something I am immensely proud of.

"I want to thank everybody throughout the club, past and present, who have been part of our monumental journey on and off the pitch. I have made a lot of friends and this is not a decision I have taken lightly, but I believe it's time for a change, for someone to bring new momentum and leadership that will continue the journey"

Statement from Mark Lacey

"I am extremely proud to become the Club's Chairman and I want to thank Barry for all he has achieved during his tenure.

"My focus is on continuity and long term sustainability. I have the full backing of the Club's Committee, who have all agreed to continue and I am also pleased to confirm that Dave Cocoracchio will stay in charge of First Team management duties and as the Club's Director of Football"
