The Magpies are delighted to announce that club stalwart, Eddie French has agreed to take on the role of Player/Coach for the forthcoming season.
Eddie arrived at Plaistow Road in the 2009/10 season after suffering serious injure that ultimately curtailed his distinguished spell at Horsham FC. He has been a telling influence both on and off the pitch ever since and has just enjoyed a season that saw him crowned as the Taylor Lacey Player of the Season and coming second in the Players' Player of the Season vote. As such, there is certainly no question of him taking a back seat from a playing perspective, but this move provides a clear pathway for him to make best use of his extensive experience and knowledge both at this level and above, and for all involved in the Club to benefit from it.
1st Team Manager, Dave Cocoracchio had this to say about the exciting news:
"I'm delighted that Eddie has taken up my offer of becoming Player/Coach. His on and off the pitch experience is invaluable and he has gained so much respect from all the players at Loxwood FC.
"I know that Eddie will be a big contributor to what we hope will be a very successful season and this will allow him to continue being an influential factor at our football club for years to come."
