Loxwood FC are running 1000 miles to raise money for Mind West Sussex over the next 4 weeks...that's like running to Barcelona!
We caught up with Chairman Mark Lacey to ask what it was all about... So Mark, Loxwood are doing a big charity push over the next month, what exactly will they be doing? and who had the idea? "Well I was involved in a walk for MIND from Falmer to Fulham back in December and a lot of the lads donated so Lewis Westlake had the idea as he knew how hard the team were finding it mentally in these current times. The squad and management have each other for support but others are not so lucky! They thought at least they could help a bit so the idea is to run 1000 miles in 4 weeks as a group.....that's like running from Loxwood to Barcelona!" Who will be doing this within the club then? "All players, management and coaches and myself however I'm not as quick as the lads" 😂 Tell me why was Mind West Sussex chosen as the charity? "We wanted to help local people struggling with their mental health and MIND is a great charity currently working hard to raise funds to help people in the region - one day we all might need MIND for help." How much do you hope to raise Mark? "We have set a target of £2500 that's roughly £100 per player / coach etc but whatever we raise is money they don't have and need desperately." Lastly Mark and most importantly, how do people donate to such a great cause? "Please use the link below or if you would prefer to contact the club directly please contact me using the email below."
